put a war in the deployment directory
      start up wildfly
log in to the web console, you should see the war there
"replace" the war with an updated one (I have not tried a war of the same version)
the web console responds with "success"
restart the server and It will fail to start with nothing in the logs.

Having a war in the deployment directory and then "replacing" a deployment through the web console causes the server to crash without any logging on restart
