It is usful for performance data to get reliable/accurate sizes of each request and response size. Apache provides mod_logio which adds %O and %I values for access log to capture this information. Providing this same funcationality in JBoss allows for consistent metrics to be captured and analyzed for JBoss servers along side Apache servers.
