As is mentioned here https://issues.redhat.com/browse/THREESCALE-5819 , micro-service architectures tend to have very large number of backend services, frontend APIs acting as the facade (Products) and API operations (mapping rules). This is currently supported by the APIs as a Product architecture but there are limitations with regards to how large these configurations can get.

It is proposed to include the concept of  a "Product Package" which a consumer with only one credential can call different API products. This feature will be useful for those scenarios with hundreds of backend services and tens of products. This is not a Product of Products, it is a simpler concept, it only requires:

      • Allowing the API provider to create Packages with different products inside them.
      • The API Consumer can subscribe to one of these packages and with only one credential access different API products.
