Version is not shown in the admin portal footer

    Description

      In AMP 2.0 there was a version in the footer (near "powered by 3scale") in the admin portal, however in 2.1, if installed from scratch it does not appear.

      Apparently, it is configured by the environment variable AMP_RELEASE which is missing in 2.1 OpenShift template.

      The upgrade instructions do change AMP_RELEASE value, so the upgraded and freshly installed versions will not be consistent in this sense (in the upgraded the version will appear in the footer).

      Some related questions:

      • Maybe the version should be somewhere inside the image rather than set via the template?
      • CR probably shouldn't appear in the version name for GA release (see THREESCALE-122
