      User story:

As a RHEL system administrator user,

I want to be able to specify wake-on-lan settings using simple letters (e.g., g, d) in NetworkManager connection profiles,

So that I can easily configure network devices without needing to remember and translate specific wake-on-lan codes.

      Acceptance criteria:

Given that a NetworkManager user has edited an nmconnection profile to include a wake-on-lan setting using a letter code (e.g., "wake-on-lan=g"),

When the user applies this configuration and then checks the wake-on-lan setting using ethtool,

Then the wake-on-lan setting should be correctly applied and reflected in the ethtool output, demonstrating that the simple letter code was successfully interpreted and implemented by NetworkManager.

      Definition of Done:

      • The implementation meets the acceptance criteria
      • Unit test and integration test are written and pass
      • The code is part of a downstream build attached to an errata
      • The initial text for this enhancement in the feature-reason-result format (More details here)

What were you trying to do that didn't work?

now I need to know all those codes to set wake-on-lan properly, d, g, is simply not accepted in nmconnection profile, whatmore it's ignored

      [ethernet]
      wake-on-lan=g

-> ethtool showing as set before

          Wake-on: d

Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:
