One of the goals is to support ExternalDNS providers relevant for OpenShift.

CU want to suggest the RFC2136 provider as relevant for on-premise OpenShift installations, since RFC2136 is a generic protocol for dynamic DNS. In combination with cert-manager supporting RFC2136 provider, on-premise installation will be already utilizing such DNS systems.
