Null pointer exception from Camel load balancer when camel-insight profile is installed

A Camel application running on a fabric load-balances REST web services calls between one incoming Jetty endpoint and three outbound Jetty endpoints. The application behaves correctly until the camel-insight profile is added to the container, and which point the load balancer throws a NullPointerException (see attachments). However, it's not clear what connection there is, if any, between the Camel route and Insight.
