The steps provided in the Getting Started document do not work for a lot of users. I suspect this is the case for the SMX Getting Started Guide as well (see http://fusesource.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=1532). The crux of the problem is that the fuse artifacts are not published in the central maven repo and various version of the m2-eclipse plugin cannot find them.

I would suggest providing steps using command lines and importing the generated project in eclipse which does work consistently and maybe mention that it is possible to achieve the same from eclipse, but note the pitfalls.
