The process, based off of the number of clones of the original Jira MGDSTRM-8976, looks like it should be available to review for potential automation within the product. This would reduce toil on SRE and decrease any potential downtime/loss that the rebalance addresses.

ToDo:

• Review associated rebalance tickets and determine any blockers to automation.
• Assuming no blockers exist, set priority for work to be done to refactor and automate the process.
• Automation should initially take the form of a backplane script with a dry-run option to allow the manual verification step with the Eng team to remain in place.

Not in scope for this task:
At a later point, when this process has been run against real production issues the product itself can have self-healing based off the logic in the script.
