SEQUENCER is a total order protocol which has several advantages over TOTAL (which is also sequencer-based), mainly due to the fact that it avoids a round trip to the coordinator to get the unique sequence number. SEQUENCER unicasts a group message to the coord, which then in turn directly broadcasts the message to the group.
