On Windows with either Japanese or Chinese localization settings, the Enterprise Application Platform's installer failed to create shortcuts in the Start menu and the users' desktop, requiring the user to manually start the application via either Windows Explorer or a Command Prompt. This problem has been fixed and the in these circumstances the installer now correctly creates shortcuts in both locations.

    Description

If you use of Japanese/Chinese localization, the installer won't create any shortcuts neither in start menu nor on desktop.

-Tested on windows. Note that asian languages are not installed on most of the hudson machines, but this is not the cause of this issue
(for example dev16 supports them and this issue occurs there also.)

-See http://izpack.org/documentation/desktop-shortcuts.html there is a documented issue under "Problems That Have No Solution (yet)"
which may be causing this problem. However note that from the description it follows that the behaviour on sun jdk is ok, which is not our case.

-There was some discussion about tis issue in JBPAPP-6343, before we decided to make this a separate issue.
