Staring installer with 1.4 JVM results in exception

      When I try to start the installer with a 1.4 jdk I get

      bash-2.05b$ C:/sdks/j2sdk1.4.2_05/bin/java.exe -jar jboss-4.0.3beta-installer.jar
      java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: org/jboss/install/PackageListener (Unsupported major.minor version 49.0)

      I expected to get:

      The application that you are trying to install requires a 1.5 version or later of the Java platform.
      You are running a 1.4.2_05 version of the Java platform.
      Please upgrade to a newer version.
