Pinger cannot ping the following URL, reporting it as down on the UI, but with an exception on the log:

A couple of things would be useful on this situation:

• On the first failure, the pinger could record the problem as ERROR on the logs, so that an admin could at least get a hint on what's going on
• I think it would be appropriate to have an "ERROR" or "UNKNOWN" state on the UI, additionally to UP/DOWN. On this case, pinger cannot know for sure that the target server is up or down, but assumes down because of an exception. IMO, this is the wrong behavior.
• Of course, ideally, this server would report as UP when it's indeed UP
