Mock HTTP servers pinged from Pinger unit tests

At present the Pinger unit tests ping real sites on the internet, such as http://perfcake.org. When any of the sites is down, the tests fail. Clearly, we want to avoid any uncontrolled behavior of the tests. The objective is to mock the servers using some framework that is able to mock HTTP responses.
