ensure that Segment's dev-mode is used; this mode can be started / invoked manually by executing this in the JS console:

insights.chrome.enable.segmentDev()

the setting is then kept on local-storage (sticky), and the user would have to refresh the browser for changes to take effect.

find a way to incorporate this into the local dev-server.

deployments

also do the above for any environment other than prod-stable

constraints

due to the current way insights.chrome works, dev-mode will only take effect after an additional browser reload (aside from the reload which obtained the new UI version).

acceptance criteria

• running the app in production (i.e. prod-stable) only sends events to the OCM Web Portal source on Segment
• running on any environment other than production, e.g. staging, beta, only sends events to the OCM Web Portal dev source on Segment
