Provide an option for global settings in Preferred Labels

bfitzpat_rh: Would be great to have a way to do more global changes. So if there's a "description" attribute and you want that to show for everything possible in the diagram, you could set that. And then override that by layering additional changes – like perhaps you want the log to show the URI instead.
