The Eclipse environment used by SAP Tooling Suite will required plugins exposing the SAP JCo and IDoc libraries in order to function. The end user's Eclipse environment will thus need to be provisioned with plugins providing these libraries. Since the licensing of the SAP JCo and IDoc libraries prevent redistribution, the end user will need to obtain their own copies of these libraries and provision their Eclipse installation themselves.

An SAP Libraries Import Wizard will:

      • instruct the end user which archive files containing the libraries he must download from SAP.
      • Instruct the end user where these archives can be downloaded.
      • Instruct the end user to continue with the wizard when he/she has downloaded the archives.
      • Prompt the user for the location on his/her local filesystem where the JCo archive resides.
      • Confirm that the version of the JCo libraries contained in the archive is supported by the SAP Tooling Suite.
      • Confirm that the OS Architecture of the JCo native library corresponds to his/her Eclipse installation
      • Prompt the user for the location on his/her local filesystem where the IDoc archive resides.
      • Confirm that the version of the JCo libraries contained in the archive is supported by the SAP Tooling Suite.
      • Build a plugin to host and export JCo jar
      • Build a fragment plugin to host and export JCo native library
      • Build a plugin to host and export IDoc jar
      • Deploy SAP plugins to dropins folder of end user's Eclipse installation
      • Prompt end user to restart Eclipse once plugins have been deployed.
