CTRL+L clearing the entered line on Karaf CLI

When trying to clear the screen on Karaf CLI with CTRL+L with command already keyed in the screen is cleared but also the command. I almost always clear the screen before issuing the command so I can see only the output of that command, this behaviour removes my command and frustrates me to no end.
