Create a top-level "About" page to succinctly define the RHDP. ALR to provide copy.
From original email discussion:
Was prepping some emails today and in wanting to use the site to explain
our group and mission, realized that we might not have a top-level
“What is the Red Hat Developers site?” page, or a “What is the Red
Hat Developer Program?” in an “About” (or similar) link. Some copy that’s close is after the promos carousel on the home page:
“Red Hat delivers the resources and ecosystem of experts to help
professional programmers to be more productive and get ahead of the
curve as they build great applications. Join now for free![1]”…but I’m often looking for an elevator pitch description more
specifically for our group and this site in particular.e.g.: “Node.js® is a platform built on Chrome's JavaScript runtime
for easily building fast, scalable network applications. Node.js uses an
event-driven, non-blocking I/O model that makes it lightweight and
efficient, perfect for data-intensive real-time applications that run
across distributed devices.”IBM DeveloperWorks, for instance, has this page, albeit noted in a small
link on the home page at the footer called “About”, and it’s
really wordy:http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/aboutdw/
+1s to creating this in a prominent spot as evergreen (or at least as a
prominent link)? If so I’ll send along some content straight from the
“Introducing the Red Hat Developer Program” press.S,
ALR[1] Link currently broken but I’ve reported it at
