Type checker does not automatically all java.lang types if they are mentioend without package qualification

The type checker correctly identifies some of the java.lang types if they are mentioned without a package qualification. However, it does not always do this. It should always check all mentions of type names which omit the type qualification to see if they correspond to a java.lang type and, if so, adopt it as the intended type.
