SAP tooling has no mechnism for handling updates

XMLWordPrintable

FUSETOOLS-1258 was closed without covering the update situation.

As it is now once users ran the SAP install wizards they will never get any updates to the actual SAP tooling since the update site is removed at the end of the wizard.

We need to define/document how users update the SAP tooling plugins AND how they update the SAP core dependencies.

My suggestion is we do not delete the temporary updatesite, we should just leave it active so when the SAP tooling plugins actually have updates users will get these updates automatically.

We must though also ensure our SAP tooling does not start using API that is not covered by the version of SAP core binaries users have installed - if we do we need to somehow detect it and let the user know.
