Designer Preview data icon--in vertical toolbar--enabled when package diagram open, but does not work

I just noticed that the preview icon associated with the diagram view does not work if the package diagram is open and a table has been selected in the Model Explorer. It enables, but clicking it doesn't do anything. Clicking the Model Explorer's preview icon does work under these circumstances.

If it's not supposed to work, please disable it.
