Manually-added dependencies do not show up in the Dependencies list

When you add a dependency manually in the pom.xml of the project (in workbench text editor UI), save the changes and go to Project -> Settings -> Dependencies, the recently added dependency is not in the list of dependencies. You need to leave the project (go to space, for example) and open it again to see the dependency in the Project Settings.
