3. What is the nature and description of the request?

Group ID and Version drop downs are grayed out in the project editor when parent pom is used. It is not possible to edit the GAV information using the Project Editor screen, users must edit the pom.xml source directly if they want to do this.

This is a RFE to allow users to edit the project's GAV information using the Project Editor fields instead having to edit the pom.xml source.

4. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)

Customer project's structure requires sometimes to edit the project GAV information. It can be done by editing the source, however, business users are not comfortable with editing the source directly. Notice it only happens when the project has a parent.

Business users are not used to edit XML sources directly like programmers are. That's why this is an important requirement for this customer.

5. How would the customer like to achieve this? (List the functional requirements here)

A new system property could be added in order to allow customer to decide if they want to allow business central users to wether edit the GAV information or not. If the system property value is true, than the GAV information would be enabled for edition.

6. For each functional requirement listed, specify how Red Hat and the customer can test to confirm the requirement is successfully implemented.

Start BPM Suite/BRMS with the system property set to true, create a new project that has a pom.xml with a parent pom and open this project with the Project Editor an check if the GAV information is not disabled and if the user can modify it and save the GAV information.

8. Does the customer have any specific timeline dependencies and which release would they like to target (i.e. RHEL5, RHEL6)?

BPM Suite 6.4. The business users are being impacted at the moment and it would help customer to avoid issues with the direct pom.xml editions and allow them to make faster releases of the project. Currently the XML edition by business users is error prone - which delays customer internal releases and impacts their workflow.
