Relative links are resolving relative to root instead of relative to the basedir of the project.

I noticed that if I don't put a slash at the end of the URL path, then some of the links are broken.
For example, if I go to:
http://www.jboss.org/maven-jboss-retro-plugin

The links don't work. But if I go to
http://www.jboss.org/maven-jboss-retro-plugin/

Then it works ok. Is there a way to automatically add the slash when it's not there?
