Steps to Reproduce:

Configure a JpaSource repository with Modeshape in JBoss using "create" for the "autoGenerateSchema" configuration parameter. Startup JBoss and log in to the repository using WebDAV. Upload a large number of files (say a 1000 jpeg images). Stop JBoss. Change "autoGenerateSchema" parameter to "validate" and restart JBoss. After server startup, try to login to the repository using WebDAV. The server stops responding.

Description

For a JpaSource repository, if the number of nodes is large, and if JBoss is restarted with the "autoGenerateSchema" configuration parameter set to "validate", it takes a very long time to startup the repository. Setting the "indexReadDepth" parameter to a value lower than the default of 4 also does not help.
