Asynchronous implementation of JBPM - Drool Persistence

Hi,

I am exploring the possibility of implementing jbpm process(workflow) as functions using eclipse vertx. Due to synchronous nature of underling JBPM implementation and JPA , the results were not great. I would like to request for the feature of asynchronous JPA persistence for JBPM persistence layer. I am not sure whether it is already in progress or part of any other request.
