Data Modeler loading time very long and increasing with more 'instances'

It takes several seconds for the Data Modeler to fully load. It also seems that the more 'instances' of Data Modeler are open, the longer it takes. The 'Loading' popup is shown, but mostly, all of the gui seems frozen while the DM is loading.
