Seam2.2 tasks example cannot create or delete category with IE11

Seam tasks example, creating and deleting category doesn't seem to work with IE11

The problem seesm to be that IE11 sends a Content-Type: text/plain by default and the javascript UI doesn't specify any specific content-type that the server rest endpoint consumes.
