make sure you have a dynamic web project in your workspace that you can deploy put a file with the name of the project + .war (ex. project.war) in your servers deployment folder that may not be deleted by the user that you used to launch the jboss server make sure you have a server and a (eclipse WTP) server adapter running deploy your project to the server by drag & dropping it to the server adapter now you should get an error that states, that the project could not be deployed now check the state of your server adapter Result: It still states [Started, Synchronized] Expected: It should not state that it is synchronized since the project could not be deployed
