      Description

      Tomcat 5 is missing naming-factory-dbcp.jar so one cannot configure and use a DBCP datasource. This seems to be because we are using RHEL5 builds of tomcat 5.5 and they are known to have the library missing https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=217630

        The problem is not using these classes when one wants to do so. It is that Tomcat is trying to use the wrong class when it is faced with such user configuration:

        <Resource name="jdbc/TestDB" auth="Container" type="javax.sql.DataSource"
                       maxActive="100" maxIdle="30" maxWait="10000"
                       username="user" password="pass" driverClassName="com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"
                       url="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/dbname"/>

        I didn't check where/if one can change the factory class.

        We really should provide the commons-

        {dbcp,collections,pool}

        -tomcat5.jar in common/lib in tomcat5.

        I was checking in 1.0.0, we didn't have those in tomcat5 either, so this is not a regression from EWS 1.0.0. Should this still be a blocker?

        It certainly is a bug which needs to be fixed, fixing this will require a respin of tomcat5 and all zips on all platforms/arches, and the tomcat5 rpm as well.
        Is this something that needs to be fixed now?

        Is it the commons/lib/naming-factory.jar ?
        I vote for keeping the name naming-factory-dbcp.jar to keep it clear.
