This workaround is messy and not a great customer experience for functionality that previously existed:

Download AMQ 7[1] and use the artemis script on a copy of the data directory.
There are more details about the tool in the AMQ docs[2], but these are a sparse and don't describe every option.

The print printdata command from hornetq is now data print -

$./artemis data print

and you will have to use the various options (--large-messages <largeMessges> etc.) for the various data files.

Description

In EAP 6.4 the hornetq script allowed the use of printdata on the journal and page files for debugging purposes.
The tools are not there in EAP 7.y.z

This is a request to re-instate it is bad idea to remove functionality that advanced customers rely on.

It is also very use for the Red Hat support teams to have the info directly from the customer as it aids the problem solving and ultimately shortens problem resolution time
