Installation of version 4.0.0GA hangs at step 8 (creating shortcuts) on Windows 7 Professional x64

      1. Put the file jbdevstudio-product-eap-win32-4.0.0.v201102161941R-H180-GA.jar in a folder on the desktop.
      2. Open the .jar file in step 1 using Java SE binary (Note: JRE 6 and JDK 6 were installed on the computer)
      3. Follow the steps as instructed (create new folder for the installation, specify Java VM as "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6", click 'yes' to install EAP from the bundle).
      4. The installer hangs at step 8 (creating shortcuts). The "Next" button is enabled, but clicking on it does not do anything.

      Note: On the same computer, I have JBDS version 3.0.0GA installed in a different folder (not sure if this matters)

    • Users should remember to use a 32-bit JVM when running on 64-bit windows - as otherwise they will experience installer and eclipse startup problems.
