Dialog should have clear Yes & No buttons and no checkbox so it becomes a clear opt-in

Wording then becomes:

"Will you allow <who> to receive anonymous usage statistics for this <product> (info)"

(no checkbox)

Yes | No

And the user has to actively select one or the other (i.e. no default button)

Pressing Escape will just make the choice appear again on next startup as it already do today.
