We're running JBoss 3.2.0 on linux. If the hostname isn't
contained neither in /etc/hosts nor the DNS, JBoss
hangs at startup without any error reporting.
More generally: JBoss services throw no exceptions
while trying to open a socket if the ip of the host cannot
be determined.
