    Description

The next step for Red Hat Access Integration is to add support for JDR reports, similar to what exists today in JON.

JDR reports are useful for Support people, as it contains debugging information about the application server. So, there should be the possibility of opening a ticket with the JDR report for the Hawkular server, or with a JDR report for a Wildfly server that is being monitored by Hawkular.

      The initial thought is:

      • On the "New Case" , there would be a JDR report attached by default, related to the Hawkular server itself. This is similar to what exists already in JON
      • On Hawkular's "Application Servers" screen, there could be an option to select one or more application servers and open a new case with the JDR reports for the selected servers.
      • On Hawkular's "Application Server Details" page, there could be an option to open a new case with the JDR report for that server.

      Another approach could be:

      • Create a "Generate JDR report" button and add to the "Application Servers" and "Application Server Details" screens. Once the reports are generated, opening the "New Case" screen would show all the generated reports, allowing the user to uncheck the reports that should not be submitted with the case. Once the case is created, the reports are then removed from our side (but can be generated again, if needed).

      Question:

      • Should there also be an option to download the JDR files? The default answer is, I believe, "yes". But this comes with a cost: the more options on the UI, the more complex it is. Considering that the JDR report can be also generated on the machine itself, I'd say that we could keep the "Download" option not available for now, and wait for community feedback. If this is a requested feature, we do it.

The current integration in JON can be seen here:

Username and password can be provided via IRC (ask me, jpkroehling on Freenode/#hawkular).

You'll also need a Red Hat Access account. If you can login to http://access.redhat.com , you can also use this integration.
