          Description

          Very useful to be able to quickly determine the version I'm using!

              Sure thing. Type "forge" without any arguments. But I think an explicit "version" command could be good for clarity's sake (note that the version output was broken in Beta2 and Beta3, and is now fixed in SNAPSHOTs)
