      Description

      We should have a clean slate, warning-wise, so if anything shows up, we don't ignore it, since sometimes warnings are due to genuine errors. (The @SupressWarnings annotation can be used to deal with warnings we can't fix due to 3rd-party APIs, etc.)

        moved to nice to have; fixing actual bugs is way more important. tidying up code, refactoring & removing compiler error messages can be done later on - e.g. 7.1 once the next bug fix release is out
