Description
To fix various existing issues with the camel editor (e.g. ECLIPSE-185, ECLIPSE-311, ECLIPSE-284, ECLIPSE-357 et al) we've a new Graphiti based editor which makes things much slicker & more intuitive.
The main differences are:
- no 'move and connect' modes; you click and drag to move stuff around; then as you hover over a shape a couple of icons popup; the arrow is the connection tool - drag and drop that to connect
- we show 1 route at once; this makes the layout much simpler and more intuitve; users don't have to keep moving/dragging routes around to resize them so they have space to drop new icons etc. It also fixes numerous gremlins in the layout code
- you can switch routes using the outline view (click on a node/route to switch) - or the Eclipse Camel pull down menu; Camel -> Route 2 for example to switch to Route2
Some added benefits
- export to diagram now works
- optional grid graph paper (can be enabled/disabled via context menu)
- you get layout aids (little lines that popup when you are aligning / centring nodes relative to other nodes like you get with Viso / OmniGraffle / Keynote et al)
