Failover EIP - Ref is not mandatory and other issues

I am trying the failover EIP in a simple route

from X -> load balancer

It seems it has some issues currently.

1)
The ref is set to mandatory. Its not. You only use that if you have a custom load balancer instead of using the build-in types.
So maybe the GUI should have a "custom" where you can enter the ref attribute
