Currently used versions of mockito (1.10.19), gwtmockito (1.1.6) and powermock (1.6.3) are not compatible with Java 9. All of these need to upgraded, ideally all at once as they rely on each other and e.g. mockito 2.x does not work with powermock 1.x and vice versa.
